Prague, 29 March 2007 - An interesting event open to the public will take place on the last weekend of March, organized by the Kruh (Circle) scout organization in Frydek-Mistek. This time, the scouts are inviting all adults and children on a trip around the world which will begin on 31 March at 10 a.m. in the scout clubroom at Kostikovo namesti. By means of fun games and contests, the participants will learn about the one-hundred-year history of this important organization, aimed at guiding children and young people towards teamwork and self-development and advising them on how to take advantage of opportunities in life.
"The Kruh scout organization of Frydek-Mistek set out on a long journey six years ago when it acquired the Scout Centre from the city authorities for the symbolic price of one crown. The members decided to restore it themselves. In the final stages, the contribution of the T-Mobile Fund also helped equip the gym so that it could be used for the "Around the World" event," says Martina Kemrova, Head of Corporate Communication at T--Mobile.
The T-Mobile Employee Fund contributed CZK 40,000 to equipping the gym, specifically to the provision of the indoor climbing wall, at the recommendation of a former girl scout`s husband. At the "Around the World" event, the climbing wall will represent Nepal and the travelers will thus get a Himalayan climbing experience. In addition to this, they will also play table tennis in China, undergo space-flight training in Russia, learn a few gastronomic tricks in France, hop like a kangaroo in Australia and feed a grizzly bear in Canada.
The Kruh scout organization has 190 members and it also offers excellent leisure-time activities for those who are not members. "Right behind the clubroom there is the Slezska housing estate where children have only limited options for spending their free time. These children form the majority of newcomers," says Pavel Kika, the organization`s representative, with a tinge of satisfaction.
