  • Winners in each category will receive the T-Mobile Bav se tariff plan for one year and a T-shirt with a picture by Stepan Mares

Prague, 3 July 2007 - The winners have been announced for the JaXmobilem contest seeking the wittiest captions for cartoons by Stepan Mares. A four-member expert jury assessed all 1,162 received suggestions and chose the best 30 for each of the three contest pictures. The first-prize winners of the individual categories will receive the T-Mobile Bav se tariff plan for one year while the second- and third-place winners will get Twist cards with credit in the amount of CZK 500. All 90 winners will receive a special T-shirt with a picture by Stepan Mares.

The participants of the contest, which ran from 31 March to 31 May, had to post a witty caption on the www.jaxmobilem.cz website that would match one of the three contest pictures. The maximum length of the submitted text was 160 characters but people could contribute with any number of captions. Most participants sent two or more contributions to the contest. The first picture (Lions) received the highest number of suggestions (469).

"The contest was launched together with this year's celebration of Mobile Etiquette Day. We are glad that so many people took part in it. The topic of proper behavior in connection with mobile phones proved very attractive; the submitted contributions were packed with ideas," says Martina Kemrova, Head of Corporate Communication at T-Mobile, who was on the expert jury that assessed the contributions and chose the best ones. The jury also included Jitka Chocova, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at T-Mobile, Lenka Bull, editor-in-chief of Joy magazine, and the cartoonist Stepan Mares.

Winning contributions:

Picture no. 1 (Lions)
Jiri Mesicki: "Marie, that roaring elephant noise you've just made - could you do it again, but louder? It might scare those lions off."

Picture no. 2 (Teacher)
Magdalena Dihlova: "Well, Petr, I told you to be careful. Now your thumb is turning blue."

Picture no. 3 (Wedding)
Simona Kolkova: "Hi, no, you're not disturbing me at all. What? I can't believe it.... What came next? Oh, hold on a sec - I do - sorry, just getting married. Now back to what you said...."

The jaXmobilem project to promote mobile etiquette complements T-Mobile's comprehensive program of corporate social responsibility, which also includes, for example, the T-Mobile Fund intended to support local initiatives in the regions where T-Mobile has its offices. Furthermore, T-Mobile organizes an annual charity auction and a volunteer program for its employees, supports waste recycling on its premises and is the first mobile operator in the market to have enabled customers to hand in their old handsets at retail shops for the purpose of ecological disposal.
