T-Mobile and its customers to donate CZK 800,000 to Centrum Paraple

Prague, 27 September 2007 - Once again this year, T-Mobile will support Centrum Paraple, an organization that assists people with spinal-cord injuries. As part of a charity show that will be aired on Czech Television, the patron of Centrum Paraple, Zdenek Sverak, will be presented with a symbolic cheque for CZK 800,000. This amount was donated not only by the mobile operator, but also by its customers and employees.
"We have been cooperating with Centrum Paraple on a long-term basis and are very pleased that our customers are keen on helping people with spinal-cord injuries," says T-Mobile's Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Jitka Chocova, adding: "Customers have donated almost CZK 300,000 through their "loyalty points"."
Compared to last year, the amount of money donated to Centrum Paraple has doubled, as a result of customers donating almost CZK 300,000 through the points they had received within the company's loyalty programme. As usual, T-Mobile then matched this amount.
Furthermore, another CZK 200,000 was added to this amount thanks to an original campaign titled Safely Behind the Wheel, which took place in summer and urged drivers to use hands-free kits while driving. The operator donated to Centrum Paraple five percent of the price of each kit sold. This year, the cheque from T‑Mobile will thus be in the record amount of CZK 800,000.
The gala presentation of the cheque will be part of the 14th annual charity show for Centrum Paraple, which will be broadcast live by Czech Television and Czech Radio 1 - Radiozurnal on 28 September. The screenplay for the show was written by Zdenek Sverak. Other participants will include, for example, Jaroslav Uhlir, Lucie Bila, Petr Kolar, Jan Budar, the Prazske barokni harmoniky band, the all-girl band The Apples and the Sedmihlasek children's choir.

Centrum Paraple is an organization that helps people who are paralysed as a result of spinal-cord injuries to adapt to their new situation, improve their physical and mental condition, achieve the maximum level of self-reliance and independence, return to their normal environment and obtain the skills needed for success in society and at work.
