T-Mobile offers a new netbook with similar features as a notebook

Prague, 1 March 2009 - Beginning today, T-Mobile is offering a new netbook, the Acer Aspire 1410, which boasts hardware features that outshine most of its rivals. It comes equipped with a built-in data module supporting 3G/EDGE/GPRS technologies, so its users do not need any additional device to access the internet. New as well as existing customers can purchase the netbook with either a data or a voice tariff plan.
The Acer Aspire 1410 is the first netbook offered by T-Mobile which supports the 3G - HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology. Although it is in the category of small portable computers, its hardware features are impressive and comparable to those of notebooks. The Intel Celeron 743 processor and 2 GB RAM ensure high performance. The netbook's unique qualities are underlined by a large 11.6-inch HD display, 160 GB hard drive, WiFi and an HDMI port. The Acer Aspire 1410's qualities are illustrated by its second-place ranking in the test of netbooks performed in January by the Technet server.
The built-in module supports both the EDGE/GPRS and 3G - HSPA technologies, the latter allowing download and upload speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps respectively. Customers therefore do not need any additional data device to access the internet. All they have to do is to insert their SIM card into the netbook and start browsing the web. This is one of the reasons why the Acer Aspire 1410 can be purchased under similar terms as, for example, a mobile phone.
Prices depend on the voice or data tariff plan that is currently used or will be activated by a T-Mobile customer. For example, a new customer signing a contract for a data tariff plan can purchase the netbook for a price starting at CZK 2,499 incl. The basic price is CZK 11,999 incl. VAT.
In addition to its very powerful hardware, the netbook also comes with the 64-bit version of the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The software includes trial versions of Microsoft Office and avast! Professional as well as the web'n'walk Manager application with preinstalled support for T-Mobile data devices.
